BIRMINGHAM HIP Resurfacing

BIRMINGHAM Hip Resurfacing

A chemical engineer who was diagnosed with arthritis at age 28, Peter was okay until his late 30s. Then he found that he was having more and more problems doing the things he wanted to do. He underwent BHR Hip procedures in both hips and was able to get back to exercising with family and friends. Motivated by his return to activity, he found the enthusiasm to train for and finish the 2005 London Marathon.

“I was okay really for quite a few years until I got to my late thirties. Around about 40, I started to find that more and more I was having problems doing the things that I wanted to do. I made the appointment to have both hips resurfaced.

I woke up from the surgery and the first thing that I noticed was that the arthritic pain was gone. After I had the operation I slipped very quickly back into normal life. What I want to do for the future is carry on with the running, carry on cycling. There are lots of things I can plan to do. It’s great.
